PENNY BROOKS
SPIRIT SQUAD DIRECTOR & HEAD CHEER COACH
Penny Brooks was named Illinois Wesleyan University’s first-ever Spirit Squad Director in March 2025 and also serves as the Head Cheerleading Coach and manager of IWU’s mascot, Tommy the Titan. She was hired to launch and lead the university’s spirit program as it transitioned into the athletic department, building a strong foundation for growth, visibility, and competitive excellence.
A lifelong cheerleader, Brooks brings extensive experience from the sport’s highest levels. Throughout her athletic career, she competed at Nationals, The Summit, The Cheerleading Worlds, and College Nationals. She continued her cheer career at the University of Minnesota, where she further developed her passion for performance, leadership, and team culture. Brooks is committed to creating a positive, disciplined, and high-energy environment where student-athletes grow as performers, leaders, and ambassadors for Illinois Wesleyan University.
LIVI WILLIAMS
HEAD DANCE COACH
Livi Williams was named Head Dance Coach at Illinois Wesleyan University in January 2026, bringing extensive experience, leadership, and energy to the Titan Spirit Squad. She was hired to lead and grow the dance program while helping elevate the overall presence and performance level of the IWU Dance Team.
A lifelong dancer, Williams continued her dance career at Illinois State University, where she developed a strong foundation in performance, technique, and team culture. She went on to serve as the Head Coach of the Illinois State University Competitive Dance Team, gaining valuable experience in choreography, training, and competitive preparation. Williams is passionate about building confident, disciplined, and dynamic student-athletes while fostering a positive team environment that represents Illinois Wesleyan University with pride.
