Above all else, athletes understand they are students first. They commit to excelling in the classroom just as much as they excel within the program — pushing the team GPA higher each season and representing with excellence and integrity throughout the athletic department.
Representing with pride on and off the sidelines — excelling in the classroom, becoming a staple in the community, giving back whenever we can, and embodying what it means to be IWU. Along the way, athletes learn lifelong values that they carry with them long after their time in the program.
There is a natural leadership presence within the team, where athletes hold each other accountable to meet and exceed the expectations set by coaches. They go above and beyond outside of scheduled practices and lifts, consistently putting in extra work to improve, grow, and get better together.
Athletes uphold a standard of accountability in every area — academics, strength and conditioning, practice, the sidelines, and competition. They fully understand the expectations placed upon them and execute with maturity, consistency, and self-discipline, requiring little to no prompting from coaches.
Athletes show the drive and determination to continually rise to the next level — they want it, and they prove they want it. They do whatever it takes to improve, grow, and elevate themselves and the program.
The team is a family — and family cares deeply for one another. They give tough love when needed, hold each other accountable, and build a bond stronger than ever, creating an atmosphere where success becomes inevitable.
